Rise for Refuge
Rise for Refuge, part of a nationwide call to action, is a rally in support of asylum-seekers, immigrants, and refugees. On the heels of attempts at barring migrants from seeking asylum in the U.S., the Trump administration is now considering the possibility of welcoming zero refugees in 2020. This would create a virtual shutdown of the long-standing resettlement program during the worst refugee crisis in world history.
In partnership with Crescent Hill Baptist Church, Americana World Community Center, La Casita Center, and other local partners, KRM is hosting a Rise for Refuge Rally on Saturday, August 3. Please join us to stand in support of all those who seek asylum in the U.S. – both abroad and at home. Speakers will include Rev. Jason Crosby, Derek Penwell, Karina Barillas, Mayor Greg Fischer, Imam Muhammed Almouten, Edgardo Mansilla, Amy Shir, Congressman John Yarmuth, Carine Basenge, Harry Pickens, and more.
