Immigration Legal Services

KRM’s immigration services are family-based and humanitarian (e.g., refugees and asylees). These services are open to community members of all immigration statuses residing in Kentucky, regardless of whether or not you were resettled by KRM or arrived as a refugee.

All services are fee-based:

  • Consultations
  • Employment Authorization Document (EAD)
  • Travel documents
  • Permanent residency (Green Card)
  • Family reunification
  • Marriage-based adjustment of status
    • Citizenship/Naturalization
    • Asylum Cases
    • U, T, and VAWA cases
    • I601A Waivers of Inadmissibility

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the volume of legal services clients, there may be an extended waitlist for scheduling initial consultation appointments for those community members outside of KRM clientele, and availability is not guaranteed.

New appointments for initial legal consultations with a KRM attorney can be requested by leaving a message at the phone number or email address provided below. Please include your name and phone number. You will be contacted by a KRM paralegal within 3-5 business days (Current caseload may extend this follow-up time).

Citizenship / Naturalization

To offer support throughout the citizenship preparation process, KRM citizenship classes assist applicants with learning U.S. civics and practicing the oral interviews. Citizenship preparation classes are open to the community. Classes are currently offered in-person only, and you MUST bring your Green Card to enroll.

PLEASE NOTE: To be eligible for naturalization as a U.S. citizen, applicants are required to have had their Green Card (Legal Permanent Residency) for a minimum of five years (or three years, if married to a U.S. citizen).
