LAUNCH OF KRM LUNCH & LEARN SERIES
Kentucky Refugee Ministries (KRM) is thrilled to announce the first Lunch & Learn event of the year, taking place on Wednesday, April 19th, from 12-12:30pm. We understand that it has been a while since we hosted one of these events, and we are excited to resume this series with an engaging and informative topic. This month’s discussion will focus on “Navigating New Paths: How the newly proposed asylum rule and humanitarian parole sponsorship program will alter the pathways of immigration in the U.S.”
The newly proposed asylum rule and humanitarian parole sponsorship program are expected to significantly impact the pathways of immigration in the United States. These changes are part of ongoing efforts to reform the U.S. immigration system and make it more equitable and just. The asylum rule is intended to reduce the number of fraudulent asylum claims, while the humanitarian parole sponsorship program aims to help individuals who may not otherwise qualify for refugee status.
At KRM, we are committed to supporting refugees and immigrants as they navigate the complex and often challenging U.S. immigration system. On April 19th, we will explore the potential implications of these proposed changes and offer a space for discussion and dialogue about how they may impact the lives of refugees and immigrants. As an organization that has been providing support to refugees and immigrants for over 30 years, we believe it is important to engage in conversations about these issues and work towards creating a more just and welcoming society for all.
Our Lunch & Learn events are designed to create a welcoming and inclusive space for community members, advocates, and anyone interested in learning more about immigration and refugee issues. It’s an opportunity to hear from experts and engage in thoughtful dialogue about important topics.
We encourage you to join us for this important conversation, and to invite your friends and colleagues to participate as well. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Alex Miniard, our Community Engagement and Development Specialist, at aminiard@kyrm.org.
Thank you for your continued support of KRM, and we hope to see you at the upcoming Lunch & Learn event!
