Apply to Volunteer at the Summer Youth Program
Summer is almost here! Louisville volunteers, what are your summer plans? Join us as a Summer Youth Program volunteer and spend time with refugee newcomers.
Volunteers for this program must be 16 years or older. This is a perfect opportunity for a high school or college student looking to gain volunteer experience or learn about refugee resettlement.
KRM’s Summer Youth Program is a school readiness program for refugee children and youth, grades K-8, held at Kentucky Refugee Ministries. Through a partnership with Jefferson County Public Schools, this six week program offers English as a Second Language, Math, and Science classes, as well as art therapy and educational field trips. The summer program relies heavily on a team of dedicated volunteers for its success! As classroom assistants and field trip chaperones, volunteers work directly with the students in the program, building strong relationships with them over the course of the summer.
