Fifth Annual Refugee & Immigrant Day at the Capitol – 2018

We are all Kentucky!

Join KRM and a coalition of statewide agencies for the 5th Annual Refugee and Immigrant Day at the Capitol in Frankfort, Kentucky on Wednesday, March 7th, 2018!

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS: wednesday, march 7, 2018

12:30 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Music

1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Rally

2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Information and letter writing in the Rotunda
Self-Guided tours of the Capitol
Optional Session Viewing

WHERE:

Frankfort, Kentucky. The rally will take place in the Rotunda. Music will start at 12:30 p.m. and the Rally will start at 1:00 p.m.

WHO:

The event is organized by a coalition of agencies including Catholic Charities of Louisville, Kentucky Refugee Ministries, Americana World Community Center, the International Center of Kentucky, Adelante Hispanic Achievers, La Casita Center, Doors to Hope, and the Backside Learning Center, with support from communities and groups across Kentucky.

WHY:

To continue making Kentucky home for refugees. To show that we are all Kentucky.

It is important for elected officials on all levels to be educated about immigration and the refugee resettlement program as well as the contributions refugees and immigrants make to our state. It is also a civic engagement opportunity for all Kentuckians, including newcomers in our state, to learn how to participate in our democracy.
