This dynamic documentary series provides insight into the experience of migration and displacement, exploring the concepts of home and belonging through the lens of refugee and immigrant artists from a diversity of creative disciplines and backgrounds. Through sharing these perspectives, we aim to uplift the voices of refugees and immigrants as well as to cultivate connection across our community and a greater understanding of our shared humanity.

Filmed in March 2026, at Sweet Colada Cuban Cafe, this 2nd Reflections on Home installment features the work and voices of Louisville-based artists Ada Asenjo, Carlos Gamez de Francisco, Sanaan Hamza, and Nachely Martinez. Cinematography and editing by Yasir Mohamud and Abdimajid Mohamud, the Somali-born filmmakers and founders behind Louisville-based creative production collective, Project Stories. Reflections on Home was made possible with funding from Louisville Metro Government Arts & Creative Industries External Agency Funds. The docuseries premiered at a screening and arts event in partnership with 21c Museum Hotels on May 8th, 2026, in Downtown Louisville, KY.
