This makes household and personal items crucial needs for arriving refugee families and their new homes. Your donations help them rebuild as they begin their new journey in the U.S.

 

Winter 2025 – 26

Seasonal Donation Drive: KRM Louisville Winter Coat Drive

November 3rd – January 30th, donate new or gently-used coats, winter clothing accessories and warm blankets for refugees and immigrants in our community. How to donate: Choose new items from this Amazon Wish List that will be automatically delivered to KRM or schedule a drop-off with the KRM Donations Team by submitting a Donation Inquiry Form below or by contacting Donations Coordinator, Jamilee Vail, at (502) 479-9180 ext. 523 or jvail@kyrm.org. Current most-needed items: men’s winter coats (sizes small – large only), women’s winter coats (sizes small – XL only), children’s winter coats (newborn – size 16), winter accessories (scarves, gloves, warm hats/beanies), and heavy, warm blankets.

Holiday Drive: KRM Louisville Children & Youth

Help KRM Louisville brighten the season for refugee and immigrant families by donating new items to be gifted to children and youth for the holidays. For this holiday drive, we ask that you please donate NEW ITEMS ONLY. The donation process is made easy with the Holiday Drive Amazon Wish List! Choose any of the preselected items from the list, and they will be automatically shipped to KRM. If you would like to donate new toys or holiday gift items that are NOT from the Amazon Wish List, please contact KRM School Support Specialist, Mariha Geter, at mgeter@kyrm.org to coordinate your donation drop-off. These holiday donations are being accepting through December 5th.

How you can give

krm louisville

KRM Louisville schedules all drop-offs and pick-ups of donated furniture and household items.  To schedule a drop-off to the KRM donations warehouse or a pick-up with the KRM donations movers, please click the “Submit a Donation Inquiry” button below. If you would like to host a donation drive for collecting household or hygiene items, please contact Donations Coordinator, Jamilee Vail, at jvail@kyrm.org.

PLEASE NOTE: Unscheduled drop-offs are not accepted. Please do not leave donated items in or outside the KRM Louisville office building.

KRM Louisville Amazon wish lists: These allow supporters to easily choose and donate vital items most needed for arriving refugee families. Lists are updated throughout the year based on urgent or seasonal needs. All items are preset to be delivered directly to KRM – You do not need to schedule a drop-off or be based in Louisville to donate wish list items. Wish lists that are currently active for all KRM office locations can be found in the “Items KRM Accepts” sections below.

The only donations Lexington can accept now are cleaning products, hygiene products, and diapers and other baby care items. Donations can be dropped off at our office at 501 W. Sixth St, Suite 250, Monday-Wednesday, 8:30am-4pm, or by appointment. Contact donations@krmlex.org to set up an appointment.

krm northern kentucky

KRM Northern Kentucky schedules all donation drop-offs of household items. Furniture is not accepted at this time at KRM Northern Kentucky. If you have furniture to donate, we recommend scheduling a pick-up through our furniture provider, New Life Furniture Bank at (513) 313-0530. Unscheduled donation drop-offs are not accepted. Please note: KRM offices can only pick up in their respective areas. Lexington staff cannot deliver furniture to the Louisville or Northern Kentucky offices or vice versa.

Transportation Donations

Bicycles (Louisville only)
Bikes can make a vital impact on a refugee’s life, sometimes making the difference in whether or not they can travel to a new job. KRM partners with Beargrass Christian Church’s Pedal Power Project in Louisville, Kentucky, to provide bicycles to refugees. Pedal Power Project accepts used bicycles and can refurbish them when necessary. Bicycles for kids and adults are both welcome! To donate your bicycle, call Beargrass Christian Church at (502) 896-1161.

Vehicles
Your donated vehicle can help a family access after school programs or new employment opportunities. Please note: KRM does not accept any vehicle manufactured more than 15 years ago or that has more than 150,000 miles on the odometer. Learn more in this Vehicle Donation Form.
