2024 Co-Sponsor & Welcome Teams – We Thank You!

Pictured above: Co-Sponsor groups from Highland Presbyterian Church (left) and Northeast Christian Church (right) welcome arriving families at the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport.

Co-Sponsors and Welcome Teams collaborate with KRM to welcome arriving and recently arrived refugee families to Kentucky. These groups gather furniture and household items, provide financial support, and help families navigate their new community during their initial resettlement period.

This level of engagement and support has had remarkable, lasting impacts on innumerable refugee families throughout the years – offering friendship, providing resources that help newcomers integrate and thrive, and empowering families to rebuild their lives in a new home.

From all of us at KRM, we extend deep gratitude to everyone who has partnered with KRM in this way – opening your hearts, donating your time and resources, and helping build a sense of belonging for those who need it most. We would like to thank and acknowledge the following 2024 KRM Co-Sponsors and Welcome Teams who supported refugee families during this record year in arrivals:

“KRM Co-Sponsors are a banner population of Louisville that I am privileged to know. Their deep commitment spawns an ardent conviction crucial to helping refugees launch and thrive. KRM’s work is upgraded by Co-Sponsors; my life is richened; refugees’ hope is brightened.”

Members of Highland Presbyterian Church greet an arriving Burmese family (left), and Beargrass Christian Church welcomes a family from Sudan (right).

While 2025 has sadly marked a suspension of the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program, with few families able to arrive, KRM Louisville is still seeking Co-Sponsors! For refugee families who have arrived in recent years with higher medical or resettlement needs, many are in need of ongoing, longer-term support services and resources. Co-Sponsorship support can help KRM provide the tools and care that promote self-sufficiency; that help these families rebuild their lives in our community. If you would like to learn more about Co-Sponsorship, please visit our Co-Sponsor Page or email KRM Co-Sponsorship & Volunteer Engagement Manager, Joseph Caminiti at jcaminiti@kyrm.org for more information.
