Attention, Louisville volunteers! What are your summer plans? Spend time with your recently-arrived refugee neighbors by volunteering at the KRM Summer Youth Program.
Volunteers for this program must be 16 years or older. This is a perfect opportunity for a high school or college student looking to gain volunteer experience or learn about refugee resettlement.
KRM’s Summer Youth Program is a school readiness program for recently-arrived refugee children and youth, grades K-8, held at Kentucky Refugee Ministries’ Louisville office. Our six-week summer program offers English as a Second Language, Math, and Science classes, as well as art therapy and educational field trips. The summer program relies heavily on its team of dedicated volunteers for its success. As classroom assistants and field trip chaperones, volunteers work directly with the children in our program, building strong relationships with the students over the course of the summer.
