World Refugee Day is an internationally-recognized day that has been designated by the United Nations to honor refugees around the globe. This day celebrates the strength and courage of those who forcibly fled their home country to escape conflict or persecution.

Many countries around the globe host a variety of activities in support and honor of refugees for this special day. These events bring together refugees themselves, resettlement staff, community partners, government officials, celebrities and the general public for fellowship, advocacy or just to have a fun day of celebration! Each year, on or around World Refugee Day, KRM clients and staff gather to enjoy global arts, cultural festivities and food, together in celebration and community.
