Celebrating Our Neighborhood: The History of Dem. Rep. of the Congo

Join KRM and Louisville Free Public Libraries (LFPL) as we kick off the 2025 installment of our partnership event series, Celebrating Our Neighborhood, on Saturday, July 26th!
Now in its third year, this series showcases the artistic and cultural traditions of refugee and immigrant communities throughout Louisville at LFPL locations in a diversity of neighborhoods across the city.
Past installments have highlighted the arts and culture of Cuba (2023) and Iraq (2024). For this annual series, artists and professionals from the featured community showcase their artistry, customs, skill and knowledge across three different events in July, August and September.
This year, Celebrating Our Neighborhood focuses on the arts and culture of Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and will feature members of the Congolese American community.
