DESCRIPTION:Attend a KRM Info Session & Volunteer Orientation to learn more about refugees and resettlement in KY or to begin volunteering with KRM! These sessions are offered on the first Wednesday of every month and presented in a hybrid format (options of Zoom or in-person). For those who would like to learn more about refugee resettlement but aren’t ready or able to volunteer at the moment – You’re welcome to join us for the info session in the first segment (approx. 30-45 min.). The info session provides a better understanding of topics such as the refugee journey\, newcomers to Louisville\, cultural awareness\, and KRM services for refugee and immigrant clients. \nIf you are applying to volunteer with KRM\, you will need to attend both segments of the session\, which includes both the info session and volunteer orientation. This orientation will provide more info on the volunteer opportunities currently available\, weekly hours and frequency or duration of each department placement\, volunteer application requirements\, and offer an opportunity to ask questions to KRM staff. \nTo learn more about volunteering or to register for the next monthly KRM Info Session & Volunteer Orientation\, visit the Volunteer Page on our website. DESCRIPTION:KRM volunteer celebration and cultural presentation event will be held Thursday\, April 25th\, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. in the KRM dining room. \n\n\n \n\n\nTo express our deep gratitude for our community of support\, we invite you to please join us in celebrating the incredible impact of KRM volunteers and connect with other supporters in your community who help make Kentucky home to refugees and immigrants! \n\n\n \n\n\nKRM Cuban Caseworker\, Daynier “Danny” Adan\, will deliver a special presentation during the event. To highlight our growing Cuban community\, he will provide valuable insights into Cuban history and culture\, as well as share on the lived experience from his own journey of rebuilding home in the U.S.\n\n\n \n\n\nRefreshments will be provided\, and free parking is available in the parking lot at the back of the building.\nKRM is located at 969-B Cherokee Road\, Louisville\, KY 40204. From the back parking lot\, signs will direct you to the dining room. \nThis is a free\, casual event\, and no RSVP is required.
