SUMMARY:KRM LEX: Bluegrass Gives 2025
DESCRIPTION:Support KRM Lexington and donate during the 2025 Blue Grass Community Foundation’s annual giving event Bluegrass Gives\, formerly the GoodGiving Challenge. More than 200 amazing nonprofits in Central and Appalachian Kentucky will participate this year\, including KRM Lexington. BGCF has made some significant changes to the event this year\, so read on for the updates. \nOne Major Change \nBluegrass Gives 2025 is now a one day giving event on Giving Tuesday\, December 2nd. Early giving and late giving are options for anyone who can’t give right on Giving Tuesday\, but the great matches and prizes will only be available on December 2nd. \nKey Dates \n\nNovember 25th: Early Giving begins\nDecember 2nd: The main event! Matches and prizes start to roll out at 6am and last right up until 11:59pm.\nDecember 5th: Giving platform closes\n\nDonations made during Bluegrass Gives are used to support refugees and immigrants with quickly accessible and flexible funding that can pay for things like housing\, utilities\, groceries\, and emergencies. \nThe best part about Bluegrass Gives is that the gifts you make through the Bluegrass Gives website could be doubled or help us qualify for additional prize money! This means that your gifts can have an even greater impact in the work of welcome. \nWhen to Give \nAny time on December 2nd is a good time to give\, but with a little strategizing\, you can make your gift go farther. You can even break up your total gift into a couple of smaller donations to really stretch those dollars and help KRM Lexington qualify for matching funds and prizes. \nWe have a more detailed decision guide that you will be able to find on our social media\, but here are some key times to donate: \n6am-12pm \n\nFrom 6am-8:59am\, the Bryant Fund will match $1 for $1 donations up to $100. ($25\,000 matching fund.)\nFrom 9am-11:59am\, the Marksbury Family Foundation will match $1 for $1 donations up to $250. ($100\,000 matching fund.)\nFrom 10am-11am\, the Independence Bank Human Services Prize will enter the five nonprofits in the Human Services category with the highest number of unique donors on Giving Tuesday from 10am-11am into a drawing for a $2\,000 prize.\n\n12pm-11:59pm\nAll of the matches in the afternoon double your dollar\, but cover different time frames and have different size matching funds. \n\n12-4pm: Brown Foundation\, gifts up to $150\, $50\,000 matching fund\n3pm until exhausted: Traditional Bank\, gifts up to $250 made to Human Services organizations\, $15\,000 matching fund\n4-6pm: Mason Investments Happy Hour\, gifts up to $100\, $10\,000 matching fund\n6-11:59pm: Hometown Fund\, gifts up to $250\, $100\,000 matching fund\n10-11:59pm: Knight Foundation\, gifts up to $100\, $15\,000 matching fund\n\nOther prizes and events will happen throughout the day and you can check those out on the Bluegrass Gives Matches and Prizes webpage. \nCan’t donate this year\, but still want to support KRM Lexington? \nShare this email with your network. “Like” and “follow” Blue Grass Community Foundation (@BGCFKY) on Facebook and Instagram and follow the directions in their daily posts for a chance to win $500 Giving Cards for KRM Lexington! You can also set up your own fundraising page on the Bluegrass Gives site–see below for more info! \nImportant notes: Beware of the timing on some of these challenges. It is such a bummer to see a donation made at 8:58am that could have qualified for a match that started just two minutes later. Also\, be sure to make your gift on the KRM Bluegrass Gives page\, not on the KRM website or by check! Only donations made on the Bluegrass Gives website will qualify for matching funds and prizes. \nWe know that the work of welcome cannot be done by one person or one organization\, so this year\, we challenge you to donate and share KRM Lexington’s Bluegrass Gives page with three people you know. Sign up for our email newsletter to get updates in the days before and during Bluegrass Giving. Lastly\, make sure you’re following KRM Lexington on Facebook and Instagram during the challenge to be alerted to other special giving challenges\, extra stories\, videos\, and more. \nPeer Fundraisers \nWant to help even more with Bluegrass Gives? Make your own Peer Fundraiser! \nPeer fundraisers allow you to tell your story about why you support KRM Lexington and stand with refugees & immigrants in central Kentucky. Once you have your page set up\, it’s very easy to direct your friends and family to make a donation and see your impact directly! \nTo set up a page\, go to the KRM Lexington Bluegrass Gives page and click the “Fundraise” button below our name and logo. Log in or make an account and the website will walk you through everything to get your page set up and ready to go. BGCF did a training webinar that you can watch here if you need any additional guidance on how to set up your peer fundraiser. \nOnce your page is ready to go\, keep the link handy and get ready to share it with your contacts on Giving Tuesday!

SUMMARY:KRM LOU: June Info Session & Volunteer Orientation
DESCRIPTION:Attend a KRM Louisville Info Session & Volunteer Orientation to learn more about refugees and resettlement in KY or to begin volunteering with KRM! These sessions are offered on the first Thursday of every month (unless otherwise noted) and presented in a hybrid format (options of Zoom or in-person).   \nFor those who would like to learn more about refugee resettlement but aren’t ready or able to volunteer at the moment – You’re welcome to join us for the info session in the first segment (approx. 45 min.). The info session provides a better understanding of topics\, such as the refugee journey\, resettlement in Kentucky\, cultural awareness\, and KRM services for refugee and immigrant clients. \nIf you are applying to volunteer with KRM Louisville\, you will need to attend both segments of the session\, which includes both the info session and volunteer orientation. This orientation will provide more info on the volunteer opportunities currently available\, weekly hours and frequency or duration of each department placement\, volunteer application requirements\, and offer an opportunity to ask questions to KRM staff. \nTo learn more about volunteering at any of the KRM office locations (Louisville\, Lexington\, or Northern KY)\, please visit the Volunteer Page on our website. \nREGISTER HERE to attend an Info Session & Volunteer Orientation. PLEASE NOTE: The registration form automatically registers you for the closest upcoming session. \nIf you have additional questions about the KRM Louisville volunteering process or application\, please reach out to Volunteer Coordinator\, Ivonne Obando: volunteer@kyrm.org
