SUMMARY:KRM LEX: Info Session & Volunteer Orientation
DESCRIPTION:Attend a KRM Lexington Info Session & Volunteer Orientation to learn more about refugees and resettlement in Kentucky or to begin volunteering with KRM! These sessions are offered on the first Tuesday of every month in person at KRM Lexington’s offices. \nFor those who would like to learn more about refugee resettlement but aren’t ready or able to volunteer at the moment – You’re welcome to join us for the info session in the first segment (approx. 30-45 min.). The info session provides a better understanding of topics\, such as the refugee journey\, newcomers to Lexington\, cultural awareness\, and KRM services for refugee and immigrant clients. \nIf you are applying to volunteer with KRM Lexington\, you will need to attend both segments of the session\, which includes both the info session and volunteer orientation. This orientation will provide more info on the volunteer opportunities currently available\, weekly hours and frequency or duration of each department placement\, volunteer application requirements\, and offer an opportunity to ask questions. \nTo learn more about volunteering at any of the KRM office locations (Louisville\, Lexington\, or Northern KY) or to register for a KRM Info Session & Volunteer Orientation\, please visit the Volunteer Page on our website. \nIf you have additional questions about the KRM Lexington volunteering process or application\, please reach out to Volunteer Coordinator Leah Pennington: volunteer@krmlex.org.

SUMMARY:KRM LEX: GoodGiving Challenge!
DESCRIPTION:Support KRM Lexington and donate during the 2024 Blue Grass Community Foundation GoodGiving Challenge! Early giving will start on November 26 and last until December 3rd and then the challenge really gets going from December 3 at 9:00am through December 6 at 11:59pm. More than 200 amazing nonprofits in Central and Appalachian Kentucky will participate this year\, including KRM Lexington. \nDonations made during the GoodGiving Challenge are used to support refugees and other forcibly displaced people with quickly accessible and flexible funding that can pay for things like housing\, utilities\, groceries\, and emergencies. \nThe best part about GoodGiving is that the gifts you make through the BGgives website could be matched or help us qualify for additional prize money! This means that your gifts can have an even greater impact in the work of welcome. \nWhen to Give \nAny day during the challenge is a good day to give\, but with a little strategizing\, you can make your gift go farther. You can even break up your total gift into a couple of smaller donations to really stretch those dollars and help KRM Lexington qualify for matching funds and prizes. \nWe have a more detailed decision guide that you’ll see on social media\, but here are some key times to donate: \nTuesday\, Dec. 3 | 11am – 11pm = Total donations will receive a 2% match and there is the opportunity to earn a $1\,011 Groovalution Prize for KRM Lexington. \nWednesday\, Dec. 4 | 9am – 11:59am = $1 to $1 match on donations up to $50. Any donation up to $50 each will be doubled! \nThursday\, Dec. 5 | 1pm – 9pm = If KRM is able to get at least 50 unique donors to give at least $25 during that time\, KRM could win an extra $2\,500-$10\,000 for our endowment. Donations up to $250 during this window (until the match funds are exhausted) are also matched at $0.50 to the dollar\, so if you give $100\, KRM gets $150. \n⇒  If you want to supercharge your donation of up to $100 on this day\, be sure to make your gift between 4-6pm\, the closer to 4pm the better. There is an additional $0.50 per $1 match for the first $2500 in donations during that time frame. $25 could become $50 and help qualify KRM for the endowment challenge. This is an excellent time to give! \nFriday\, Dec. 6 | 12pm – 11:59am = Last chance for matching funds: gifts up to $500 are matched at $0.50 per $1 to close out the challenge. Turn $500 into $750! \nCan’t donate this year\, but still want to support KRM Lexington? Share this email with your network. “Like” and “follow” Blue Grass Community Foundation (@BGCFKY) on Facebook and Instagram and follow the directions in their daily posts for a chance to win $250 Giving Cards for KRM Lexington! \nImportant notes: Beware of the timing on some of these challenges. It is such a bummer to see a donation made at 8:58am that could have qualified for a match that started just two minutes later. Also\, be sure to make your gift on the KRM BGgives page\, not on the KRM website or by check! Only donations made on the BGgives website will qualify for matching funds and prizes. \nLast year\, we challenged you all to donate $25 for 25 years and we were so amazed to see so many people show out for KRM Lexington! Your support at just the right times meant we were able to raise more than we ever have before and we secured an additional $5000 prize for our endowment. Help us make this year even better! \nWe know that the work of welcome cannot be done by one person or one organization\, so this year\, we challenge you to donate and share KRM Lexington’s BGgives page with three people you know. Lastly\, make sure you’re following KRM Lexington on Facebook and Instagram during the challenge to be alerted to other special giving challenges\, extra stories\, videos\, and more. Happy GoodGiving!

SUMMARY:Monthly Volunteer Orientation & Info Session
DESCRIPTION:Attend a KRM Info Session & Volunteer Orientation to learn more about refugees and resettlement in KY or to begin volunteering with KRM! These sessions are offered on the first Wednesday of every month and presented in a hybrid format (options of Zoom or in-person). For those who would like to learn more about refugee resettlement but aren’t ready or able to volunteer at the moment – You’re welcome to join us for the info session in the first segment (approx. 30-45 min.). The info session provides a better understanding of topics\, such as the refugee journey\, newcomers to Louisville\, cultural awareness\, and KRM services for refugee and immigrant clients. \nIf you are applying to volunteer with KRM\, you will need to attend both segments of the session\, which includes both the info session and volunteer orientation. This orientation will provide more info on the volunteer opportunities currently available\, weekly hours and frequency or duration of each department placement\, volunteer application requirements\, and offer an opportunity to ask questions to KRM staff. \nTo learn more about volunteering or to register for the next monthly KRM Info Session & Volunteer Orientation\, please visit the Volunteer Page on our website. If you have additional questions about the volunteering process or application\, please reach out to Volunteer & Co-sponsorship Specialist\, Kristina Lynch: volunteer@kyrm.org.
