Music for a Purpose launches its second season of benefit concerts to raise funds and increase awareness for humanitarian causes.  “Making Music\, Changing Lives” is designed to promote lasting change throughout our communities\, bring people together and utilize the power of music as a catalyst for connectivity. Join us on November 2nd or 3rd to experience what is sure to be an exceptional event! \nWhen & Where:\nThursday\, November 2nd\, at 7:30 p.m.\nLocation: Second Presbyterian Church \nFriday\, November 3rd\, at 8:00 p.m.\nLocation: Highland Presbyterian Church \nWhat & Who:\nThe concerts will feature members of the Louisville Orchestra and professional classical musicians – including KRM’s own Co-Sponsorship & Volunteer Manager\, Joseph Caminiti\, playing the French horn. \nAlong with Joseph Caminiti\, Julia Cash (violin)\, John Kramer (piano) and Edward Caruthers (baritone) will perform music by Brahms\, Saint-Saens and Kramer. \nCost:\nSuggested donation: $25 – $50\nAdmission is free. DESCRIPTION:The Songs & Dance of a People\nОй у лузі червона калина – (Oi u luzi chervona kalyna) a Ukrainian patriotic song first appeared in the late 1800s\, and soon became one of the most beloved expressions of Ukrainian patriotism. Therefore\, it is known to have many versions and covers. \nThe red viburnum of the song (kalyna in Ukrainian)—a deciduous shrub that grows four to five metres tall—is referenced throughout Ukrainian folklore. The red viburnum has a special national appeal and its silhouette  is depicted along the edges of the flag of the president of Ukraine. \nHopak (Ukrainian: гопа́к) is a Ukrainian folk dance. It is often popularly referred to as the “National dance of Ukraine”\, and is commonly performed by both professional and amature dancers at events throughout the country and abroad. \nBenefit concert for UKrainian REfugees\nDuring the first weekend of the 2023 New Year\, experience Ukrainian culture\, and support those who share it\, by being a part of this once in a life time Concert for Ukraine. Link up with friends and family for a night like no other\, with some amazing bands\, as we #StandwithUkraine and #MakeKYHome. DESCRIPTION:What:\nAs part of our ongoing KRM Live series\, this event will feature performances from the Academy of Flamenco Arts and global musicians. Enjoy appetizer and drink specials from Colonial Gardens restaurants\, and celebrate global arts!\n\n\n\nWhen:\n\nSaturday\, July 29th\, from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.\n\n\n\nWhere:\n\nColonial Gardens\, located across from Iroquois Park at 818 Kenwood Drive\, Louisville\, KY 40214. The event will take place in the outdoor courtyard.\n\nHave dinner or drinks and enjoy the performance from one of Colonial Gardens’ restaurant patios. Seating is also available in the general courtyard area\, and you are welcome to bring your own folding chair\, as seating may be limited. In the event of rain\, KRM Live will be held in their event space on the 2nd floor of BA Colonial. Free parking is available in the Colonial Gardens parking lot\, directly behind the building. Street parking is also available.\n\n\n\nCost:\nAs always\, KRM Live is a free event and open to the public. \n  \nFunding for KRM’s arts and culture programming is provided by Louisville MetroArts.
